Buck of 2012.....

This is my trophy for the 2012 hunting season, an 8pt buck.  Katelyn (my oldest daughter) was hunting with me and this guy was with 2 does.  I was counting on the does coming out of the woods because that is what Katelyn can shoot.  But he came out on his own, so I took the shot!! 

Three of our boys went out with me to haul him into the truck.  So I took their picture.  (Josh, Luke and Aaron) 

Im really hoping that Katelyn gets one this evening!!!

Fall at our House.....

We have had a very busy fall. Josh played JFL again this year and Luke played Flag Football this year.  They both did really well.  But WOW it was very time comsuming!!! Plus Katelyn is in marching band. So between the three of them, I met myself coming and going!!!...lol It is slowing down just a bit.  Katelyn will be done with marching band in a week and a half, but Jip made the 8th grade basketball team....lol  So off and running again!!!!....LOL But I'm thankful that my kids have the ability to be part of these things!!

We are having a really pretty fall here.  We have alot of hardwood so alot of the time it isn't really colorful.  But the trees surrounding our little place is very colorful this year!!! The picture above was taken yesterday looking over the pond.

We are still getting tomatoes and green peppers from our garden....WHOO HOO!!!  I'm planning on making crabapple jelly today. Our tree is LOADED!!!!  Next to strawberry...crabapple is my very favorite jelly.

On the 4th of July we went to my best friends house to celebrate our country's freedom. Tammy took our family picture out in the their backyard.  It is very hard to get 9 people to all look at once!...lol

We are so very thankful for the inch of rain that we got yesterday!!!! We watched our yard start turning green.  For real, you could actually see it coming back to green!!!!!

My bestest friend came today and took Josiah's 4 yr pictures.  She did such an excellent job!!  This is just one of them.

We are having a busy summer.  Im starting to can beans. The kids are sssooo excited about that.  NOT!!!...lol  That is not their favorite job!!

This is the cabin that we stayed in while we were on vacation last week in Tennessee.  We had an awesome time.  The weather was PERFECT!!!!. We went to the Ripleys Aquarium, Cades Cove, Clingmans Dome...Katelyn, my Mother-in-law and I went to the Titanic Museum.  Katelyn has studied alot about that and it was a wonderful museum.  It was very well done.  I really enjoyed it. On our last full day there we went to a creek along side the road and had a blast playing in the water!!!!.  AND WE SAW A BEAR!!!....That was what we were all waiting for!!...LOL.  Im so glad that we were able to go!!!

This is my birthday boy doing his science project for this year.  Jip turns 13 today.  I am so very proud of him!!!!!  Happy Birthday, Jip, I love you very much!!

Today is my little baby boys birthday.  Can't believe that he is 4 yrs old already!!  He is such a funny little guy and I can't imagine life without him!!!....Happy Birthday, Josiah!!!

We are officially out of school now!!...And Katelyn and I  painted her room yesterday and today.  Can't believe how fast this year has gone!!!....Not much going on here except grocery shopping this evening.....lol...and pizza night!!

Well, last night we went to Katelyn's 8th grade award ceremony.  I was so very proud of her.  She won the highest award for 8th grade, the American Legion Award.  And she won several other awards, too.  Im so proud of all the hard work she puts into her school work. 

I can't believe that school is almost over.  It will be over tomorrow.  Then we will all be home together.  Which I do enjoy.

We went to Josh's 5th grade band concert last night.  He did such a good job!!...Very, very proud of him!!!!

Birthday pics and new project......

Im posting pictures of some of our week....this week.  We celebrated Luke's 8th birthday.  He was a very excited little boy.  LOL

Well starting another week....a very busy week!!!  Katelyn has her 8th grade play prac tonight. Aaron has his kindergarten program in the afternoon and I'm helping decorate for our Mother/Daughter banquet tomorrow night. Katelyn has last play prac on wed night and it is Luke's 8th bday. Thurs night is Katelyn's 8th grade play, Aladin. She is excited to be in the play. Fri night is grocery shopping and then there is saturday and sunday is the 2nd time for the play. Wow, Im going to be a busy Mama!!...lol..

The kids were playing outside saturday night and I couldn't see Josiah.  I looked out the back and this is where I found him.  In the doghouse.  His favorite hiding place.  The only problem was the dog was a little confused...LOL

Well it is monday again!!!...i can't believe how fast time is going.  We only have a few weeks of school left then off for the summer.  We are planning a vacation to Tennessee in June.  The kids are excited about that.

We had a busy weekend.  My sister came to visit on saturday.  The weather here has been CRAZY!!!!. One day it will be in the 70s and the next day...in the 50s.  We have fruit trees that are bearing already and our strawberry patch is full. John, my husband, has been babying those things like crazy....LOL.  We go out at night and cover them up.  We will be thankful that he did that in a couple of weeks when we are eating wonderful strawberry pie, shakes and shortcakes!!!.

The sun is shining and it is looking like a good day.  Hope everyone has a good Monday!!!

New Faces on the Farm:

The new faces on our farm....the are (left to right) Starbucks, Shock and Holster. We usually let the kids name the calves when they get here.  So these are the names that Josh, Aaron and Luke picked....lol. They are about 3 wks old. So I bucket feed them twice a day.  I love this part of our life!!!

Our Busy Weekend

Hello from  the country again.  We had a busy weekend.  We had our Easter Contata this weekend.  We had some circumstances that made it impossible to have it before or on Easter.  Everyone did such a good job this year!!!.

We are starting to get into a busy time for us.  All of our kids programs, band concerts, 8th grade play will be from now til the end of school. And with 5 in school, we are very busy!...lol.

We have started to plant some in our garden. We have lettuce, radishes, corn and sugar-snap peas.  I can't wait to start eating on all of our garden products!!!!....
